My Year 2025: A Personal Reflection on Cycling, Work, and Life
2025 is about to end, so I thought—why not write a small reminder for myself?
This post is not a summary of achievements or failures. It’s more like a personal log. Something I can look back on in the future and remember what I did, how I lived, and how I handled this year. Maybe I’ll learn something from it later. Maybe someone else reading this will find a bit of inspiration. Or maybe it’s just a note for future me—to remember how this year actually felt.
Like every year, people make New Year resolutions. Some get completed, many don’t.
I didn’t make any resolutions for 2025.
I simply followed life. Whatever came my way, I accepted it and tried to do my best.
Looking back, four major things stand out from this year.
Cycling in 2025: Staying Active Without Perfection
I started 2025 with a 100 km cycling ride on the very first day of the year.
Starting the year with a physical activity felt good—mentally and physically. I don’t think everyone needs to do a 100 km ride. Even going to the gym, taking a short walk, or running 3–5 km is enough. Doing something positive on the first day of the year gives you confidence and a good feeling.
Over the entire year, I completed around 680 km of cycling. Ideally, it should have been closer to 1000 km, but I’m still happy with this number. It tells me that I tried, even when consistency was difficult.

Working on a Film in 2025: Lessons from Chakachaundh
From March to October, I worked on a film called Chakachaundh (not released yet).
I was involved as an Assistant Director during pre-production and later as an Assistant Editor in post-production. This gave me a rare opportunity to see a film evolve—from planning and execution to the edit table.

From a filmmaking perspective, this experience taught me a lot. I genuinely believe it will help me in my future projects. Professionally, Chakachaundh is one of the most important things that happened to me in 2025.
Shifting My Rented House: A Hard Lesson in Adult Life
In August, I shifted houses—and honestly, it was exhausting.
Living in a rented house is tough, even when you pay rent on time and follow all the rules. Sometimes landlords treat tenants more like a source of money than people. Unnecessary rules, authority games, and unreasonable deposit deductions can drain you mentally and financially.

Overall, it was a bad experience. I genuinely hope my current landlord turns out to be better than the previous one.

Building My Website: A Personal Growth Milestone
Building a website may not be a big deal for many people, but for me, it was huge.
This website had been pending for years. I always wanted to build it without plugins, using mostly pure coding. With the help of AI, I finally managed to do it this year.
I spent almost two months on it—from October 20 to December 15.
This was one of the biggest confidence boosts I’ve had in a long time. I don’t come from a technical background, but I still managed to build something that turned out exactly how I wanted it. It’s hard to explain the feeling properly—but it felt really good.
A Note for Future Me: Reflections and Life Lessons
If you’re reading this in the future, remember this:
- Please maintain some healthy habits—cycling, gym, or reading books.
- Use your time wisely. Keep a good signal-to-noise ratio (80/20).
- And please—find a permanent home. I’m tired of shifting houses.
Overall, 2025 was a good year.
I don’t know where life will take you next—but don’t forget how you handled this one.
See you next year.
Happy New Year. 🌱
